Portrait of a Nation

The project is part of a master's series. It follows service industry workers and union leaders across one of the most prolific striking periods in the history of industrial action in the United Kingdom. The project is ongoing, exploring the lived experiences of those faced with the prospect of striking. Unlike other periods of industrial action, 2022-2023 saw working people across diverse facets of industry go on strike. Highlighting individual accounts of strikes, this project seeks to both highlight and question the position of working people in today's Britain.
